I’m a senior writer, editor and marketing communications specialist based in Tauranga, Aotearoa New Zealand. I began my career in in-house comms and agency PR, before spending 20 years as an editor and writer, 14 of those as a full-time, in-demand freelancer working mostly in the magazine industry and also for a range of commercial clients, for whom I produced PR/brand collateral, and editorial, advertorial, web and social media content, as well as editing book manuscripts and stuff.

In mid-2024, I segued into in-house marcomms by joining the Stakeholder & Communications and Marketing teams at Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission, the Crown entity focused on financial capability, which drives sorted.org.nz. Following a move to Tauranga from Auckland in December 2025, I was employed for a fixed term as a senior comms and engagement advisor for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi. Today, I’m absolutely rapt to be freelancing again (although I am keeping an open mind about more permanent opportunities); my creative fire is stoked.

Here, I’ve brought together some of my favourite stories created while on staff and freelancing for magazines and other publications in Auckland, Tauranga and Sydney. My work has been published in InStyleFashion QuarterlyMiss FQMetroNorth & SouthSunday, NZ Listener, Homestyle, Home NZ, Your Home & Garden, Woman’s DayNZ Woman’s Weekly, Australian Womens WeeklyNew Idea, Next, Simply You, Woman, Cleo, Girlfriend, NZ Geographic, NZ Gardener, Life & Leisure, ScoutTogether Journal, NZ Weddings, Cuisine, Toast, Remix, Mindfood, Good Health, ThriveNZ Womens Health, Kia Ora, UNONZ Marketing, Farmlander, Hospitality Business, the New Zealand Herald (plus its inserts Viva, Canvas and so on) and the Bay of Plenty Times, and across various online platforms, including BusinessDesk.
